On June 24, 2022, Alameda County announced it would realign with state face masking guidance, rescinding the indoor masking mandate that went into effect on Friday, June 3. Because the city of Berkeley has its own public health jurisdiction, the order did not apply to the city of Berkeley and the UC Berkeley campus.

Alameda County has issued a new public health order requiring that masks be worn in most indoor locations beginning Friday, June 3. Because the city of Berkeley has its own public health jurisdiction, this order does not apply to the city of Berkeley and the UC Berkeley campus.

The updated training course, EHS 207: UC Berkeley Guidelines on Protecting Workers from COVID-19 (Revised 5/10/2022), is required by Cal/OSHA and must be completed by all faculty, staff, postdocs, and student workers. Even if an employee has taken the prior version of EHS 207, they still must take this updated course. The course takes approximately 15-minutes.
